The Ballarat International Foto Biennale invites the participation of schools in the 2009 Festival which runs from September 4th to October 4th 2009

GREATER BALLARAT REGION SCHOOL PROJECT

The Ballarat International Foto Biennale invites all Pre-Schools, Primary and Secondary Schools in the Greater Ballarat Region to participate in this prestigious international festival of photography from September 4 to October 4 2009

The Festival includes 20 Core Program exhibitions by the very best international and Australian photographers which will show in the Ballarat Arts Precinct, plus Fringe Festival, seminars, workshops, projections, portfolio reviews and a programme of photography related events throughout Ballarat and the Hepburn Shire

Students are invited to take digital images on the theme 'Looking at my World'. Selected photographs will be printed, framed and displayed in shop windows in Ballarat during BIFB. Well known photographers will be available for workshops in schools in Term 1, 2009. Students can visit exhibitions during BIFB for artists talks. Cameras available if necessary

Your school should be part of this major Ballarat art event. We do hope that a class, a grade, a particular curriculum topic or project within your school will join this community art festival. Download the form below or email senga@ballaratfoto.org to express interest as soon as possible. Participation is limited and will operate on a first registered basis.

Already confirmed amongst the international contingent are exhibitions from the USA, Canada, Italy, Poland, Germany, Lithuania, Hong Kong and China. Works cover all the photographic genres, including commercial, photo documentary, science and fine art.

The BIFB'09 Core Program will be sited over 8 venues, including the Ballarat Art Gallery and the Mining Exchange, all situated within or in close proximity to the Ballarat Arts and Culture precinct, and within 5 minutes walking distance of each other.

The Ballarat Arts and Culture precinct is conveniently situated less than 5 minutes from V Line Ballarat, and easily accessible by road transport from Melbourne and all regional centres.

We can arrange artist or curator floor talks to accompany your visit as well as specially designed information kits suitable for various year level groups.
