SEA CREATURES : Carolyn lewens and Neil Stanyer

These photographs have been made by incorporating one of the first photographic processes, the Cyanotype, with the latest
photo-imaging technologies and juxtaposing the simplest of techniques, the photogram, with the most complex – scanning
and digital imaging. No camera or lens has been used.
The images have been inspired by the magical creatures that inhabit the sea and the wonder of discovering their remains
whilst walking along our beaches. Shells and skeletons are commonly found and are traces of an unknown … the representation
of "living" creatures are similarly contrived and evoke a sense of fascination into the world and lives of wet creatures
