the Australian Institute of Professional Photography [AIPP] Victorian Division proudly presents the judging of the 2007
Victorian Professional Photographer of the Year Awards [VPPY's] as part of DFB'07
AIPP member photographers represent the gamut of commercial photography, from Advertising to Industrial, from Wedding
to Portraiture, from Stock to Scientific, from Art to Landscape. The AIPP is by far the largest representative body of photographers
in Australia, and the Victorian Division comprises the highest total membership of all the states
The VPPY's are the highlight of the yearly State Calendar for Victorian AIPP members, with prizes to the value of nearly
$8000 up for grabs in a print competition which comprises categories for both commissioned and non commissioned works.
Judging is an open process, whereby a panel of 5 peers assess each image and allocate a numerical score. The judging is
a lengthy and informative process, with judges allowed to challenge and debate scores in an effort to point out aspects of
an image which fellow judges may have overlooked.
The judging process is open to observers - AIPP members and non members
alike, and is free to view.
Spend an hour two on your hectic DFB'07 gallery crawl to take in some of the best commercial photography that Victoria
has to offer.
