ANTHONY BROWELL "Obscura - The laws of Chance / Waterfront"

Unseen compositions, unpredictable imagery, long exposure times, sunshine galore, beauty in the landscape, beauty in the female torso, and results which often surprise and amaze, "Obscura" is the result of using only a simple pinhole camera and paper negatives.

Anthony Browell lives in Balmain, an inner Sydney area, where the waterfront industrial
buildings are being systematically razed out of existence, and replaced by
banal apartment blocks. "Waterfront" illustrates the strength and purpose, and therefore the beauty of these splendid structures, before they too are pushed over.
